Punjab ex-cops, both 70+, get life for fake killings of jawan, kisan 32 years ago
Two ex-Punjab Police officers, both in their 70s, were sentenced to life in prison for a 1992 fake encounter involving an army jawan and a farmer. They were fined Rs 2 lakh each and face extra jail time if unpaid. The CBI investigation revealed that the killings were staged and the victims were falsely implicated.
