In 2024, India experienced the second highest number of internet shutdowns globally, with 84 instances, narrowly behind Myanmar’s 85. The report highlights that India, along with Myanmar, Pakistan, and Russia, accounted for 71% of the global total in shutdowns. Manipur, Haryana, and Jammu & Kashmir were the most affected regions in India.
